What is the role of the teacher?
Teacher:Their role is to assign behavior, academic focus, and attendance levels to each student in their calendars and blogs. Protégés, mentors, and apprentice levels will all have calendars that they can interact with but will also be monitored by their Teacher. Teachers are Intensive, passive, and occasional mentors and have the ability to help create additional programs with each group as well. They will be accessible by choice for contact regarding outside work and references.
What is the role of the protégé?
Protégé:If you have seen the slide show (interrupt the Pipeline) these are the youngest members of M.A.R.O.O.N.S. Net. They will be mentored by older student mentors and apprentices. Depending on the development of each student, they will go from protégé to being developed as a mentor and thus acquiring more privileges. Their page will be for blogging reflective writing assignments through the curriculum set by their mentor. Protégés will have their pictures, and calendars available but will not be viewed or contacted by anyone but their mentors and immediate teachers. They do not have the ability to obtain an apprenticeship, nor do they need to contact anyone except their mentor. Their parents will have access to their accounts as well.
Protégés are peer and passive mentors. They are impressionable and need intensive mentors and have multiple occasional, peer, and passive influencers in their lives.
What is the role of the mentor?
Mentor:Completed Steps 1, 2, 3, and have chosen a group of young protégés to mentor at a nearby school.
The sequence works as such:
8th to 3rd grade
9th to 4th
10th to 5th
11th to 6th
12th t0 7th
Same sex mentoring across the board is preferable but mandatory for everyone under 18. This means that for those who are mentoring others under 18, you must be of the same gender, male to male, female to female.
Will be able to access the students through the web but also will physically facilitate mentoring every week. Students will travel at least once a week to physically mentor the students, monitoring their grades, attendance, and behavior. This can be placed inside their calendar by any assigned staff at the school. A mentor will also have a provided or suggested curriculum. A portion of the curriculum will come through Steps 1, 2 and 3 of Project M.A.R.O.O.N.S. Inc. Mentors are intensive, peer, passive, and occasional in practice. Mentors and apprentices have the greatest influence on the protégés, their immediate peers, their surrounding community, and beyond.
What is the role of the apprentice?
Apprentice:A proven mentor will be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship. They have access to invite anyone into their profile page. They will network and converse among colleges, other mentors, businesses and apprentices. They will spend at least one day a week working in a field that they may be interested in. Aside from their internship, they will be able to communicate with coworkers about professional habits and customs. The goal is to create a networking tool for those who enter into the business world experience at an earlier age. Once again, the guidelines for a mentor apply to apprentice as well.
What is the role of the standard users (community users)?
Standard Users (Can we change this to community?)- Business Mentor, Community Mentor, College Mentor: Will all be on the same level but will be differentiated according to skill set. That way a mentor or apprentice can search for a specific need by their titles. In order to participate, you also have to complete Part 1 of the program, and part of the M.A.R.O.O.N.S. R.E.A.D. program to better understand yourselves and the stories of the students you are mentoring. Part 2 is optional for you to complete though the practical application of completing the concept of forgiveness will be beneficial for your own edification as well as discussing this portion with a mentee.
What is the role of the rugby network?
RugbySimple networking tool for rugby players. Project M.A.R.O.O.N.S. Inc encourages fitness and the main sport it endorses is rugby. This is a simple tool for the mentors to seek teams and professional support in the vast and growing rugby network. There are no requirements for this portion except that you have to be able to name all 15 positions.
